Margin & leverage

On Bitnxs you post USDC as margin and choose leverage from 1x up to the market maximum: 50x on BTC-USDC and ETH-USDC (20x on SOL-USDC). Leverage sets how large a position your margin can control: initial margin = position notional ÷ leverage.
How is initial margin calculated?
Section titled “How is initial margin calculated?”Initial margin = Position size × Entry price ÷ Leverage
Example: Long 0.1 BTC at 80,000 USDC with 10x leverage. Notional = 0.1 × 80,000 = 8,000 USDC. Initial margin = 8,000 ÷ 10 = 800 USDC.
What is maintenance margin?
Section titled “What is maintenance margin?”Maintenance margin is the minimum margin needed to keep a position open. If your margin falls below it, the position is liquidated.
Cross or isolated margin?
Section titled “Cross or isolated margin?”Bitnxs supports both cross and isolated margin. You choose the mode per market in the order panel, or via POST /session/leverage in the API.
What is the maximum leverage on Bitnxs? 50x on BTC-USDC and ETH-USDC.
Does higher leverage mean higher fees? No. Fees are charged on notional value, not on margin. Higher leverage does bring your liquidation price closer to your entry.
